I’m so bad at it. I didn’t grow up playing video games so I’m generally awful at everything anyway but Forza is depressingly hard for me. It’s awesome though.

I kinda want to get an Xbox 1 and Forza 6 specifically for the SVX, but I feel that there would be better uses for that money...

...such as actually buying an SVX...

Forza 6 is definitely amazing, but I think that Horizon 3 will blow your mind. It’s that good.

This game lacks a few things that other games do well. The campaign mode in it is rather terrible, especially compared to like a Project Car but really i’m comparing it to Gran Turismo 4. The number of cars is low too and it’s all like top of the line performance cars aside certain cars that were added because they are weird. GT4s campaign mode had rallying, city racing, and all kinds of things.

For example you will only ever see a Skyline GTR in this. No R31 GTS-R or R32 GTS-T or anything like that. One of the nice things about Gran Turismo was you had options like that. Other games like Project Cars is of course worse in this regard. However the campaign mode more than makes up for it.

The modding in the game is the best in any game though by far. It’s solely why I would pick this over like a Gran Turismo, a game that doesn’t even let you put wider tires on cars. However it’s still clunky and weird like no offset for wheels and you can’t convert a car to fuel injection or certain cars can’t have a turbo or supercharger because reasons. Engine swapping is also worse now than Forza 4. They made it so you can put any make engine in (which would be a no-no in REAL racing like SCCA) which is ok but then they removed like 3/4 of the engines you could swap into cars.

The thing that pissed me off is I loved Forza 4. The campaign mode in that was better and the car selection was also superior when the new game doesn’t have the Starion or Pantera two of my most used cars from 4.

There is no gold standard for a racing game right now. The ones more like simulations have a poor car selection and no modding. The games like Forza have terrible campaign modes and lack different kinds of racing like endurance racing and rallying that like GT4 had. I think the genre is in poor state right now overall. When GT4/5, Forza 4, and rFactor were around (2005-2012) things were much better.
